Vengeance is not Ours, It’s God’s

in my dreams
I used to be an oratorical declaimer. When I was in Grade 3, my teacher gave all of us a page of paper to be memorized. She didn’t tell us she would pick the one who’d memorise first to be trained. Hmm… If you knew me when I was young, I always wanted to be the first. LOL. So as you can figure out, I was the first one to memorize the piece:
Vengeance is not Ours, It’s God’s.
My teacher started training me and I performed that on our School Year Closing Program. The next year, because I went to the same school, they sent me to join a district school competition, performing the oratorical declamation piece:
Vengeance is not Ours, It’s God’s.
I won the competition. Ever since, I used that piece to join a declamation competition. There was never a competition I never won.
I guess I owe it to the fact that I wanted to be an actor then. I would really cry in front of the audience. I would look into the judges eyes… and cry. LOL. That was always my winning point.
Vengeance is not Ours, It’s God’s.
It’s always my winning piece.
Now my Samantha is into drama. We started sending her to a drama school. she’s doing very well for a 4-year old. I am really hoping that we could keep this up for her. It would be good to see her acting someday.
Not that I want her to become like those kids who started in show business, become famous and end up in a drug rehab treatment centers drug rehab treatment centers because they couldn’t take the pressure anymore. No. I just want to enhance her God-given talent and enjoy it, use it for His glory.
One day, I’m going to see Samantha perform on stage.
I am going to be a proud Mom.
In Need of a Massage

I have been working hard the past few days. Working hard for me means sitting at my “work table” and typing some articles. It’s been pretty hectic. And today, when I woke, I felt that tinging pain on my right should blade part. Arrgh.
I asked my husband to massage a bit. But you know it’s different when a professional masseur do it for you instead.
I was searching for some spa in Malaysia online. I found a promotional package of body therapy for couples. And it’s really cheap. You have to book days ahead though to secure the massage room that has spa covers. Of course, nowadays, when going for spa, its necessary to book it days in advance.
I haven’t presented it to the hubs yet. I am pretty sure he would want to go for this one.
Gosh, I really need a massage. Hopefully, I could still lift, my right arm tomorrow. That bad, you ask?
Yes, that bad.
Hard Day’s Work

Well, after a hard day’s work we all need a break to relieve stressed muscles and to cool down the hot-tempered heads. So what is the best way to relax? Let me enumerate some suggestions.
Maybe an afternoon walks along the seashore or on the riverside while watching the sunset, or how about treating yourself for a cup or two of your most favorite ice cream flavor nearby. You can sweat your anger out by doing an hour of jogging or better yet go and check the latest movie showing in the cinema – be sure to choose the best one or you’ll get out from the theater with expression heavier than when you came in. Hmmnn…
Or if you would like to stay in the convenience of your own home, why not check a massage therapy program online and see if you’ll be able to avail the relief you just needed after a long and tiring day.
Upgraded to Platinum Card

Yep. I just got my upgraded card, from gold to platinum. Should I take this as a good news?
I guess it should be as I am allowed to use 20,000RM now.
On the other hand, it’s not so good to our family’s financial department. But I do wonder though if I could use this as a business credit card. I am not too sure. This year in 2011, I am aiming to do more business online. So I need to find out if I could do that.
Anyways, it feels great that the credit company thinks I am a good payer… otherwise they wouldn’t have upgraded me, would they? And Platinum at that.
Having a platinum card makes me feel I am rich. LOL.
Little Hassles in Life

Simple things that we see or use everyday are not really appreciated as much as they should be. But when these simple things do not work, they can pretty much make a hassle in your daily routine. I proved this thing today.
I was in the grocery store doing my usual grocery shopping. After getting all the things I need, I fell in line and waited for my turn. When my turn came, my items were punched and then the receipt was printed. Then the receipt printer did not print, rather it did not really work. Maybe it was a stroke of bad luck or maybe it was intended to happen to me so that I appreciate that little machine on the side of the computer that prints the receipt. And then it dawned on me, every establishment where we buy things –fast food chains, stores, pharmacy, and others all use them. And if all of them won’t work, imagine the hassle it would bring to all of us.
So, appreciate little things. Anyways, I got through the cashier after 30 minutes. 30 minutes wasted because that little thing we didn’t even value before.

I am a fan of natural ways of losing weight. But then again, the use of diet pills is not something new to me, really. I have tons of friends who use them and they say that it works. You just have to be choosy and look for the ones that work and do not have side effects. There are really only few names that are being repeatedly said by my friends when it comes to diet pills that work. And I think it is good that if I really have to use a diet pill, it is something recommended to me by my friends that I trust.
Oh well, I have the time to think. I know that I should be doing something because in a month’s time, I’m going for an island escape with fellow mommies. Yay! I am excited for the trip… but not excited to think of starting to shape up. LOL.
How to Respond to a Compliment?

in encouragement, points to ponder
When somebody gives us a compliment, how do we respond to it? Do we say… Oh, it’s nothing? Do we just shrug it off?
God created us with a unique talent. And when people say good things about it, I guess it is necessary that we know how to respond. But how?
The sincere compliments you receive are your jewels, – collect them in your heart, – they highlight the beauty of your being and empower you during challenging times. Never say ‘oh, it’s nothing’ or shrug your shoulders when you hear a sincere compliment. Pause, breathe it in, and really feel its meaning. (God wants you to know)
Generationist

Somebody in my FB friend’s update has posted a note from other friend about Pinoys in the different eras. I was quite amazed at the attitude of superiority towards a certain generation… a sense of generationism. In the place where I live, racism is quite rampant. They don’t make it as obvious… but you can feel it. You can sense it.
Just now, when I was reading a friend’s friend’s note, it surprised me that some of our Pinoy Sisters/Brothers are quite open with their being generationist. And so… to make sense of what I ‘sensed,’ I tried to google whether there is really such term and whether the term has the right implications on what I have sensed and I discovered it to be true.
Generationism is the belief that a specific generation has inherent traits which may be labeled inferior or superior to the traits of another generation. The term is usually applied to claims of superiority in the expressed values, valuations, lifestyles and general beliefs of one generation compared to those of another, where objectively verifiable criteria substantiating the claim of superiority in themselves are lacking.
Generationism is most commonly used as an accusation against the belief that the contemporary generation in itself is inherently superior to previous generations, for example through the common practice of pejoratively referring to ancient cultures as “primitive” – not to be confused with the positive label of primitivism – although an older generation’s opposition to the values and lifestyles of a younger generation may also popularly be referred to as generationist. Accidents Do Happen

Vehicular Accidents are very common these days. Sometimes, these accidents happen because of a careless or a drunk driver. The saddest part about it is that most of the time, there are always casualties in these accidents, even lives are lost.
The impact of a vehicular accident, car or truck, is a very traumatic one. No amount of money will ever compensate it, but making the person responsible for the accident pay for his shortcoming that changed the life of one individual forever, is something that all of us should be after for.
If you are one of these people and you happen to be in the Texas area, then you are in luck. A Texas truck accident attorney that is an expert in this kind of cases will be able to help you. The O’Hanlon, McCollom and Demerath Law Firm, stationed in Austin, Texas is willing to lend a hand and give you free initial consultations regarding auto accidents.
Fullness of Life

I just posted about the meaning and purposes of life… and when I had my devotions today, God led me to this verse:
“May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
Ephesians 3:19–20
Do you really believe that God can do absolutely anything? Do you settle for little, when God wants much for you? Much fruit, much love, much joy and peace and goodness. Much power is at your disposal. Open wide to receive much … “more than we might ask or think”!
