Note: I am currently reading a book by Norma Day and I am posting my reflections from time to time. You may follow my reflections at: Seven Secrets to a Timeless Beauty.
Chapter 1
Elegance of a Godly Nature
Norma Day, in Chapter 1, started this book by describing the “art” of being a woman. And she explained it in the context of the art of being God’s woman.
Learning that art is really about experiencing the ultimate makeover, moving from a life that’s rough around the the edges and is turned inside out to becoming a woman of elegance with a Godly nature at your core.
Elegance in a Godly nature is about beneath the surface things like daily cleansing before the Lord, which is just as important as cleansing of the skin.
Now, hold on… let me reflect here. It is true that in order to achieve elegance, we should take care of ourselves. It brings us back to the basics like washing ourselves everyday, looking for thebest way to get rid of blackheads eating healthy food, good grooming, etc. And to achieve that Godly elegance, we should also do a daily cleansing of asking forgiveness, praying to the Lord, etc. Reading the Word of God is a healthy diet for our soul. Good grooming is like wearing the fruit of the spirit where love, joy, patience, kindness, etc. are obvious.
Elegance is also about balancing your inner beauty with your outer beauty. The truth is, they are linked together by the first secret to Timeless Beauty.
Here’s some:
A woman’s quest for beauty is the same as desiring God’s nature in her, because God is beauty, just as He is love. Your physical appearance is highly important because you can glorify God through it. – Norma Day
